A Hawai‘i based 100% locally backed construction services platform focused on building a best-in-class group of operating companies through strategic acquisitions, operational excellence, and disciplined growth.
We are in the early stages of growing the platform, creating a rare opportunity to architect the financial infrastructure, tax strategy, and structural foundation of a scalable, best in class enterprise.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable, experienced, and hands-on Vice President of Finance to serve as a financial architect and strategic partner during the foundational growth phase of the company and beyond.
This is not a traditional corporate finance role. The ideal candidate combines CFO-level strategic thinking with a willingness to operate at ground level. You will design and build scalable financial systems while actively participating in day-to-day execution as we integrate acquisitions and expand operations.
You will partner directly with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive financial discipline, optimize tax and corporate structuring, and position the enterprise for long-term value creation

Strategic Finance & Value Creation
- Own the finance function and provide thought leadership for a growth focused construction services platform
- Develop financial strategy aligned with acquisitions, integration, and long-term planning
- Design scalable reporting infrastructure and KPI dashboards to support sponsor reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and enterprise performance management
- Translate financial performance into enterprise value drivers
Hands-On Financial Operations
- Oversee and participate in day-to-day accounting operations including AR/AP, general ledger integrity, and reporting
- Drive implementation and standardization of accounting systems and workflows
- Establish disciplined weekly cash reporting and rolling cash flow forecasts
- Improve close timelines and reporting accuracy
- Strengthen internal controls appropriate for a scaling platform
- Develop and execute procurement strategy to maximize buying power with key suppliers
Construction & Contract Accounting
- Ensure accurate application of construction accounting principles including job costing and WIP reporting
- Partner with operations leaders to improve job-level margin visibility and forecasting accuracy
- Improve billing practices, collections processes, and working capital management
Platform Build & Acquisition Integration
- Lead financial integration of acquired companies
- Standardize reporting, chart of accounts, and internal controls across entities
- Identify and implement scalable systems and automation solutions including new AI tools
Build financial infrastructure capable of supporting continued acquisition activity Tax Strategy & Corporate Structuring
- Partner with external tax advisors to design and optimize entity structures across the platform
- Assist in tax planning strategies aimed at maximizing shareholder value and optimizing cash flow
- Evaluate acquisition structures and integration strategies from a tax and value perspective
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements while minimizing structural inefficiencies
- Support planning for future recapitalizations, refinancing, and / or M&A events
- Improve documentation and financial quality of earnings
Leadership & External Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop internal accounting personnel and external accounting partners
- Serve as primary finance liaison to e ownership
- Interface with auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and legal counsel
- Partner with sales team to complete and win bids and contracts
- Support lender reporting and covenant compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other quantitative field (CPA or MBA preferred but not required)
- 8+ years progressive finance/accounting experience with increasing leadership responsibility
- Experience in construction or project-based industries strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience building financial systems in high-growth or transitional environments, ERP deployments, BI systems, and technology forward thinking
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax strategy fundamentals, and entity structuring concepts
- Advanced financial modeling and cash forecasting capabilities
- Strong operational mindset with willingness to operate hands-on
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
